What I'm Most Proud Of & What I Learned in August 2020

We’ve finally made it to the last day of August and I would be lying if I said this wasn’t the quickest/longest month of the year. So far every month of this unexpected year has practically flown by whereas August started quick and then moved at a snail’s pace in the last few weeks. My biggest goals this month were to get my pantry cleaned out so I can start organizing it, get back active on social media, and start back blogging consistently. I started the month with an elaborate plan on how I would get things done but failed to establish a process to get the tasks I wanted to get done knocked off my lengthy to-do list.

What I’m Most Proud Of

My biggest achievement this month is that even though I didn’t get my list completely checked off, I did get a few things done and I didn’t quit on myself or my goals. I got my pantry completely cleaned out from top to bottom which was a task but I am so happy I did it because I literally could not stand to look at the cluttered and overfilled shelves any longer. Now I can start figuring out how to organize in a way that is not only aesthetically pleasing but functional for my family as well. Tip: If you’re planning on organizing your pantry I highly suggest cleaning it out and logging everything you have before purchasing any bins or anything else to organize it.

I am also extremely proud of the fact that even though I missed my target for the number of blogs posted for the month I still did post a few, which is more than a step in the right direction.

What I Learned

I follow a powerhouse about her business blogger named Mattie James and she preaches about having a process in place with actionable steps to achieve the goals you’ve set forth. One thing I am extremely good at is making a to-do list of all the things I plan to accomplish, however, what I always fail to do it establish a process to get those things done. Until this month I thought I understood what Mattie has been teaching, but, this month I really began to understand that a process is needed in order to meet these goals. The days of being lackadaisical in my approach to business have to be abolished if I am ever going to reach the goals I have or receive the things I am believing God for.

Takeaway

This month may not have gone exactly how I planned for it to go, but, I was still able to accomplish my goals even if only partially and I was able to acknowledge what I did wrong so I can work on not repeating that mistake again. I also was able to reflect on how incredibly good God has been to me and my family throughout this pandemic, and see Him move in a way that only He can move. I am looking forward to next month!

As always, thank you so much for reading!
